What Does a Pull-up Resistor Do?

WRITTEN NOTE

A digital input can produce unstable readings when it is not connected clearly to HIGH or LOW. A pull-up resistor keeps the input at a known HIGH state until a button or another component connects it to ground. In the video, show the unstable reading of a floating input, then add a pull-up resistor and demonstrate how the reading becomes predictable when the button is pressed and released.
